LaVonne Mildred Lindner, age 92, passed away on Thursday, October 31, 2024 at Good Samaritan Society – Sioux Falls Village in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. A memorial visitation will be held from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Thursday, November 7, 2024 at Miller Funeral Home – Downtown Chapel (507 S Main Ave., Sioux Falls, SD) with a wake service beginning at 6:30 pm.

LaVonne was born on September 4, 1932 to Henry and Annie (Jungers) Lindner in Watertown, South Dakota. She grew up southeast of Watertown on the family farm and attended school in Kranzburg. The family moved to Watertown in 1957. LaVonne worked at St. Ann's Hospital as a housekeeper for 40 years before retiring in 2002.

Faith was a cornerstone of LaVonne's life and she attended to daily mass. She was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Kranzburg, Conception Catholic Church in Watertown, and St. Michael Catholic Church after moving to Sioux Falls in 2014. LaVonne also enjoyed visiting with her family and friends, shopping, working on word puzzles, and watching game shows on TV.

LaVonne is survived by her nieces, Lois (Terry) Helgerson and Lori (Jim) Viereck; her nephew, Dennis (Shelley) McDowell; her brother, James Lindner; and many extended family and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents; her sisters, Lila Martin and Alice McDowell; and a baby brother, Jerome Lindner.
