Lawrence Paul Bergeron passed away on March 1st at his home in Clark, South Dakota after a nearly five-month battle with the beast called cancer.  He was 73 years of age. His farewell graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on March 6, 2025, at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Sioux Falls, SD.

Larry was born on October 30th,1951 in Holyoke, Massachusetts, and moved to California with his family at a young age.  He grew up in the Bay area of that state and moved with his parents to the Fresno area while in college.  He attended San Jose State and California State University, Fresno where he earned a B.A. in history.  While in college he met his soulmate, Kathy, and after graduating together, they married on June 5th, 1976, at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Fresno.  They lived in that city until July of 1977 when they moved to the Antelope Valley of California. The couple lived in Rosamond for one year and moved to Mojave in 1978.  Larry worked for Cal Portland Cement in Mojave for 26 years, starting as a laborer and becoming a Computer Systems Administrator by the time of his retirement in October of 2013.  He and his wife moved to Clark, South Dakota in that same month.

Larry loved to read, loved his pets, loved to do computer programming, and do woodworking, watch endless YouTube videos, and always wanted to build a model train set up—but ran out of money and time before he could complete that. He was a stanch Conservative in every way—politics, moral outlook and lifestyle.  He loved his God, his family and his country.

Larry is survived by his wife of over 48 years, Kathy, a son,  Jeffrey Bergeron of Ottawa, Kansas, a daughter, Leilani Writer of Kyle, Texas, a daughter, Shoshana Howard of Wartrace, Tennessee, and a son, Leeland Bergeron of Ottawa, Kansas.  He leaves behind eight grandchildren.

The world is a much sadder place without him.
