Liudmila Vitinskaia, age 89, passed away peacefully in Sioux Falls, SD on January 23, 2025. She was born on December 11, 1935, to Nikolai and Lidia (Oleinik) Tsvelykh in Ukraine.

Liudmila met her future husband, Vladimir while attending middle school, and years later, they were married in 1959. Upon graduation from university, they moved to Chisinau, Moldova. Liudmila was employed with the largest grocery chain in Moldova, retiring in 1994 as general manager.

Liudmila and Vladimir were blessed with two children, Gregory and Ellina (Robert) Schuknecht; three grandchildren, Natalia, Nikolai and Elle; and one great-granddaughter, Sasha. Vladimir passed away in February 2007. Liudmila  was an avid reader who loved nature, spending time with her family, beloved cat Russi, and handsome dog Simba. She was tremendously loved and will be deeply missed.

Visitation with the family present to greet friends will be from 4:00 – 6:00 pm Monday, January 27, at Miller Funeral Home Downtown, 507 S. Main Ave., Sioux Falls, SD.  Burial will be at St. Michael Cemetery, Sioux Falls, SD.
