Lois was born January 28, 1937, in Dell Rapids, SD to Frank and Augusta Tichota. She grew up in Dell Rapids and attended St. Mary's School. She started college at Mount Marty in Yankton and later transferred to University of South Dakota at Vermillion where she graduated with a degree in Education. On July 9, 1965, she was united in marriage to Richard Lundin at Christ the King Catholic Church. During her life, Lois taught school in Luverne and Austin, Minnesota; Santa Maria, California; and Sioux Falls. Due to her love classical music, she went on to devote her time as the Business Manager for the South Dakota Symphony. It was during this time that she met lifelong friends fondly known as the TGIF Group. After her time with the Symphony, Lois went on to master the computer systems scheduling software at OBGYN for Dr. Mutch. Lois finally retired upon the birth of her first grandchild, Jack.
The Lundin home was always filled with delicious baked goods. You always knew that if a dish came from Lois's kitchen it was going to be not only delicious but beautiful. Her backyard was a source of pride as she had an incredible green thumb. Her roses were an attraction that people would go out of their way to admire. She was an adoring grandmother to Jack, Abby, Anna, Erika and Katie.
