Lois (Stevens) Brown, 93, of Sioux Falls, SD passed away on Thursday, April 2, 2026 at Edgewood Sioux Falls Memory Care.

Funeral service will be 11:00 am Friday, April 10, at Central Church, 3100 W. Ralph Rogers Road, Sioux Falls, SD with burial at Woodlawn Cemetery.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.

Lois Darlene Siepkes was born on November 14, 1932 to K. Carl Siepkes and Dena (Straatmeyer) Siepkes in Hartford, SD.  She attended school in Hartford, SD until her family moved to Sioux Falls where she attended and graduated from Washington High School.  Lois had two older sisters, Caroline and Jenola.

Lois married Robert "Bob" Stevens on February 14, 1952.  They lived in Sioux Falls and had four children: Rob, Doug, Diane, and Janell.  Doug passed away in June 1957 just weeks before his 3rd birthday.  Bob and Lois were married over 57 years when Bob passed away in December 2009.  Lois was also very close to her Mother and was an amazing daughter.

Lois was a wonderful Mother and will be missed greatly.  She was a stay-at-home Mom for many years before she started working at Lewis Westgate and then Home Federal.  She adored birds, growing beautiful flowers, and crocheting.  She made many blankets for all the family members including baby blankets for each family.  She was also known for her crocheted slippers.

Lois was a strong believer and a member of Central Baptist Church for over 70 years.  She was part of a Women's Circle, Hand Bell Choir, and had many friendships there.  She volunteered in many ministries over all those years including children's Sunday School and VBS, helping Pastor Randy with funeral luncheons, and being an attendance and money counter.  She even sang in the live Christmas Tree Choir.

Lois was a dedicated volunteer helping at the Prince of Peace Nursing Home for many years and at the Avera Cancer Ward.  She received many volunteer awards from Avera.  She also volunteered at the Washington Pavilion.  And she enjoyed being a part of the Red Hat Society with a group of special women.

Lois married J. Alex Brown on May 30, 2016.  They were married for 8 years and went on many wonderful trips.  She enjoyed being a part of Alex's children's and grandchildren's lives.

Lois started living at Edgewood Sioux Falls Memory Care in May, 2023 and peacefully passed away there in her sleep on April 2, 2026 to live in heaven with Jesus.

Blessed to have shared her life are her three children, Rob (Kim) Stevens of Battle Creek, MI, Diane (Kevin) Van Dyke of West Des Moines, IA, and Janell (Alex) Peck of Commack, NY; her seven grandchildren, Jason (Jayme) Stevens, Jennifer (Andy) Birt, Matthew (Elizabeth) Van Dyke, Jacob (Leslie) Van Dyke, Katherine Peck, Alexander (Jess) Peck, and Lucas (Elizabeth) Van Dyke; four great-grandchildren, Chase Birt, Gabriella Van Dyke, Isabelle Van Dyke, Julian Van Dyke, one Van Dyke great-grandchild on the way, and 2 bonus great-grandchildren from Jayme Stevens, Tyler (Hollie) Glisson and Joseph Glisson; a sister-in-law Alice Stevens, 4 nieces, 1 nephew, and many other relatives and friends.

Preceding her in death are her husband, Bob, and their son, Doug, her parents, her 2 sisters, 3 nephews, many in-laws, and many other relatives and friends.
