Lorraine Dibbert passed away on May 28, 2025, at Sanford Foundation Hospice in Sioux Falls, SD. She was 91 years old.

Born on January 23, 1934, outside of Freeman, SD, Lorraine was the daughter of John and Adina (Walter) Hofer. She attended Freeman Public Schools and graduated from Freeman High School. Lorraine then continued her education at Freeman Jr. Academy, earning an associate's degree by the age of 20.

Lorraine met her future husband, Ronald Dibbert, at a roller-skating rink, and they were married on January 10, 1954. Ron served in the United States Army, and their first home was at Fort Riley, KS. In 1955, the couple moved to Sioux Falls, SD, where they raised their two sons, Warren and Alan.

Although Lorraine worked for a time at Case Company, her true passion lay in raising her children. She was fiercely independent and enjoyed reading her Bible daily, camping, fishing, and keeping a diary. Above all, Lorraine cherished her family, delighting in entertaining her grandchildren and spending time with her growing family.

Lorraine is survived by her children, Warren (Pam) Dibbert and Alan (Deb) Dibbert, as well as six grandchildren: Jennifer, Jeremy, Jason (deceased), Nathan, Justin, and Jacob. She also had seven great-grandchildren: Addison, Chloe, Timothy, Lillian, Oliver, Abigail, and "Baby Boy." Lorraine was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Ron, and her grandson Jason.

A private family service will be held in the future.
