Ronald A. Anderson passed peacefully on February 12th, 2025.

Memorial Services will be held 11:00 am Friday, April 25, 2025 at Brandon Lutheran Church, 600 E. Holly Blvd, Brandon, SD with burial at Brandon Cemetery.

Lynn Helen (Blessing) Anderson was born February 11, 1946 in Le Mars, Iowa to Victor S. and Grace P. (Stearns) Blessing. She was the youngest of four children.  Lynn began her education in Paullina, Iowa until 4th grade when her family moved to Luverne, MN. She was very involved in Luverne High School Band and graduated in 1964.

Lynn married Ronald Anderson in Sioux Falls, SD on May 14th, 1977. They shared the love of two sons, Todd Anderson and Michael Anderson.

Lynn began her career at State Farm Regional office in Roseville, MN. Other employers were Rock County Veterinary, Luverne, MN, Metropolitan Life, Sioux Falls, SD, Christopherson, Bailin and Anderson, Sioux Falls, SD and lastly at Tri State Insurance (later Continental Western Insurance in Luverne, MN. She was very involved in National Association of Insurance Women as President, Vice President and Treasurer. Lynn also took many insurance continuing education classes.

The Anderson family were longtime members of Brandon Lutheran Church where Lynn was involved as a Sunday school and confirmation teacher.  She was also President, Vice President and Secretary of Women of ELCA. She enjoyed being involved with the Thursday Quilting group and co-chair of the Fall Festival Lefse Making Committee.

The Biggest Joy of her life was spent with family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was so proud of the family she and Ron had started with their sons, Todd (Jacqueline) and Michael (Tara) Anderson; her grandchildren, Sara (Rex) Thronburg, Trishia (Jamel) Smith, Katie (Jeff) Splinter, Bob (Emily) Richardson, Sammi (Austin) Ardrey, Collin Anderson, Kayden Anderson and Aubrey Anderson; her great grandchildren, Rylan Thronburg, Chloe Thronburg, Alexandra Hart, Sloan Hart, Brody Splinter, Ellie Splinter, Mason Richardson and Graham Ardrey; and her neighborly grandkids, Peyton and Dylan Burkman; a sister, Becky Schmeckpepper; and several nieces and nephews, cousins and friends who loved to visit.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Carol Hollander;  a brother, Don Blessing.

Ronald A. Anderson was born June 14, 1942 in Bremerton, Washington to Alden Robert Anderson and Jeanne Rose Lichteig. He is the youngest of two children, he was preceded in death by his parents and sister Roberta (Bobbi) Harabedian.

Ron grew up in Sioux Falls, SD with his dad Alden (Bud) Anderson and his mom Lillian (Langdon) Anderson. Ron graduated from Washington High School in Sioux Falls, SD where he played football.

Ron married Lynn Blessing in Sioux Falls, SD on May 14th, 1977. They shared the love of two sons, Todd Anderson and Michael Anderson.

Ron began his career working for John Morrell and Company for nearly 30 years. When he decided a change was needed, he worked for the Brandon Valley School District for nearly 12 years doing a variety of jobs from Maintenance to Bus Driver.  He finished his career with BVSD driving a bus for special needs children to and from school, a job which he enjoyed the most.

Ron loved his years coaching his son Todd's softball and baseball teams plus cheering Todd and Mike's involvement in sports.  In his younger years he spent many days golfing, fishing, hunting and traveling in the motorhome.  In later years he loved cheering on his grandsons, Collin and Kayden in all of their many sports.

The family were members of Brandon Lutheran Church where he was involved as a humble servant on the Fall Festival Lefse Making Committee assisting his wife Lynn who was the co-chair of the committee.

The final years were spent enjoying his time in Colorado with family and in Arizona with friends.

The Biggest joy of his life was spent with family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was so proud of the family he and Lynn had started with their sons Todd(Jacqueline) and Michael(Tara) Anderson. Her grandchildren Sara (Rex) Thronburg, Trishia (Jamel) Smith, Katie (Jeff) Splinter, Bob (Emily) Richardson, Sammi (Austin) Ardrey, Collin Anderson, Kayden Anderson and Aubrey Anderson.

Great Grandchildren, Rylan Thronburg, Chloe Thronburg, Alexandra Hart, Sloan Hart, Brody Splinter, Ellie Splinter, Mason Richardson and Graham Ardrey.

Neighborly Grandkids Peyton and Dylan Burkman.

Numerous cousins, Nieces and Nephews loved to visit the both of them for many years.
