Mallory Joy Jahn, age 3, passed away on Friday, August 29, 2025 at her home surrounded by her family in Centerville, South Dakota. A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, September 6, 2025 at Redeemer Lutheran Church (14226 W 280th St., Henderson, MN).

Mallory was born on June 28, 2022 to James "Andy" and Julie (Read) Jahn at Sanford Vermillion Medical Center. She had a unique, bright energy that instantly captivated everyone. It was Mallory's world from the start, and her family was blessed to be a part of it. She never wanted to be the center of attention, but something about Mallory's spirit just commanded it.

Mallory adored Minnie Mouse. Dressed in her Minnie Mouse themed clothes, Mallory brought her Minnie toys and stuffed animals with her everywhere. She even got to meet Minnie and they had a special tea party together and played for hours. Mallory also loved all things cow related. She wanted to be outside as much as possible. Mallory would be on the playground with her "Minnies" swinging on the swings and sliding down the slides, and she adored swimming. Fearless, Mallory also loved riding with her dad on the motorcycle.

Mallory was described as "spicy and feisty." Even when Mallory was diagnosed with cancer, she never let it slow her down. She was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive Atypical Teratoid/Rhabdoid Tumor in August of 2024. Mallory would run up and down the hallways of the hospital with the hospital dog, Inca, while completing her treatments. Her energy never dimmed throughout her chemotherapy or her surgeries. At her young age, Mallory was already a jokester with a solid sense of humor and a mischievous laugh as she played pranks on her family. The vibrant joy that she brought to all that she met will be missed immeasurably.

Grateful to have shared Mallory's life with her are her parents, Andy and Julie Jahn of Centerville, SD; her siblings, Samantha Jahn, Raven Simons, and Aaron Boone; her uncles, Rodger (Wendy) Read of Carver, MN and their children, Gage and Nathan, Jeff (Kelly) Read of St. Louis Park, MN and their son, Owen, and Daniel (Anne) Read of Jordan, MN and their children Oliver and Evelyn; her grandparents, Gerald and Shirley Read of Carver, MN, and Danny Jahn of Vermillion, SD; her godmother, Becky Engelking of St. James, MN; and many family and family friends too numerous to list. Mallory was preceded in death by her loyal family dog, Morgan, who is undoubtedly running around with her again now in heaven.

Mallory's family would like to extend special thanks to the doctors, nurses, and staff of M Health Fairview Masonic Children's Hospital in Minneapolis, MN and the numerous friends and family that provided support to Mallory throughout her care.
