Margaret "Tuny"
Ann Wingert
Jan 12, 1944 — May 21, 2025
Sioux Falls
Margaret Wingert, 81, passed away at her home in Sioux Falls on Wednesday, May 21, 2025. Visitation will be from 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM, Saturday, May 24, 2025, at Miller Funeral Home - Westside Chapel. (6200 W.41st St. Sioux Falls, SD) Private Funeral Services will be held.
Margaret Ann Wingert was born on Wednesday, January 12, 1944, to Margaret Estell (Bland) and Vernon Edward Hooser at St. Mary's Hospital in Long Beach, California. Margaret grew up in southern California and attended May Thompson Grade School, Washington Junior High, and graduated from Bellflower High School.
After graduation, Margaret moved to Sioux Falls, South Dakota. She held jobs as a model for a fur store, delivering pastries for a local bakery, and even running her own security business. In 2001, while working at a local casino, Margaret met the love of her life, Francis Wingert. They were soon married and have been inseparable ever since.
Together the couple traveled throughout the country doing factory inspections for Francis' job. She also loved to travel to Madison and visit the Prairie Village where they could see all of the neat, old tractors. Margaret had a deep love of dogs and her poodle, Princess, held a special place in her heart. She enjoyed spending time crocheting blankets and would gift them to those she loved. Above all, Margaret cherished the time she got to spend with her family.
Grateful for sharing her life are her husband, Francis Wingert of South Dakota; brother, Lewis (Linda) Hooser of Minnesota; children, Rebecca (Lance) Grasma of South Dakota, Jason (Bobbe) Wingert of South Dakota; and Robert (Lori) Cameron of South Carolina; grandchildren, Haleigh and Jackson Grasma, Amanda Wingert, and Courtney and Maya Cameron; and many other friends and family.
Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, Margaret and Vernon.
