Marjorie "Marge"
Adler
Nov 22, 1941 — Jun 20, 2025
Aberdeen
With a heavy heart, we share the passing of Marjorie "Marge" Jean Adler, who left this world peacefully on June 20, 2025, at the age of 83, surrounded by her loving family at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
Born on November 22, 1941, Marge was welcomed into the world in Aberdeen, South Dakota, by her devoted parents, Oscar and Meta (Wagner) Rehfeld. She attended public school and graduated from Aberdeen Central High School, where she began to forge the connections that would shape her life.
Marge was a proud mother to three sons—Jay Scott, Brad, and Derrion—who brought her immense joy and laughter. Being a boys' mom was a role she cherished deeply.
In her early working years, Marge dedicated herself to production at Control Data Corp in Aberdeen. Later in life, she embraced opportunities at the Aberdeen Elks Lodge, Moccasin Creek Country Club, and Herberger's, always serving with the genuine hospitality and warmth that endeared her to everyone around her.
Marge had a particular love for sunshine, finding joy in interior decorating and spending time at rummage sales, where her passion for unique candles flourished. Yet, her greatest love was undoubtedly her family—she cherished the moments shared with her grandchildren the most.
She leaves behind her beloved sons, Brad Thuringer of Sioux Falls and Derrion (Lisa) Hardie of Madison; six cherished grandchildren, Tyler (Shanna) Thuringer, Alexis Thuringer, MaKenzie (Kyle) Bagnell, Sierra (Wesley) Kroupa, Zachary Hardie, and Madisyn Hardie; and four adored great-grandchildren. Marge also held a special place in her heart for her neighbor's children, Thatcher and Anders, and their parents, Lucky and Joan Peterson, as well as her nephew, Terry (Lorry) Heiser, and many other relatives who will miss her dearly.
Marge is now reunited with her parents, Oscar and Meta Rehfeld, her siblings Elwood, Wally, Phillis, and Duane, and her beloved son, Jay Scott Rehfeld.
In honor of her life, Marge's family will hold a celebration from noon to 3:00 PM on Sunday, October 5th, 2025 at the Holiday Inn Express in Aberdeen, South Dakota. She will rest peacefully alongside her parents at Riverside Memorial Cemetery, forever remembered and cherished.
