Marjorie Anne Goodroad, 94, of Sioux Falls, SD, passed away on December 19, 2024, at Fellowship Village in Inwood, Iowa.

Marjorie Twaddle was born in Duluth, MN on August 30, 1930, to Hanford, Sr. and Mary (Schubitzke) Twaddle. After graduating high school, she moved to Sioux. Falls where she met and married the love of her life, Alvin Goodroad. Together they raised three children, Al, Sandi, and Robert.

Marj had a unique artistic talent to paint and pursued her love for china painting in 1978. In 1982, she started teaching china painting classes. She became internationally recognized having some of her works displayed in Japan, England, and Germany. Her works have also appeared on the pages of several professional magazines. Locally, Marj's talent is best viewed on the tiled mural of Christ above the front doors of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church at 8th and Cliff. She held memberships in the World Organization of China Teachers Club, International Porcelain Artists, and the Sioux Falls China Painters Club. She was recognized in many ways including being the featured artist on South Dakota Public TV. She was proud that her artwork would always be one of a kind and that she was creating the "Antiques of Tomorrow". In addition to her painting and teaching, she spent years of service volunteering at the VFW and VA Hospital. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church.

Marjorie is survived by her daughter, Sandi (Roger) Pierce, Flower Mound, TX; sister, Georgia Rhead, and sister-in-law, Lori Twaddle, both of Renner, SD; John (Paulette) Frederickson, Spearfish; 8 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and 15 great-great-grandchildren in addition to her nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin; sons, Al and Robert; granddaughter, Suzanne Meendering; sister, Barbara Schlenker and brother, Hanford Twaddle, Jr.
