Matthew James
Reeve
Feb 18, 1981 — May 12, 2026
Sioux Falls
Matthew "Matt" Reeve, 45, of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, May 12th, 2026. Born on February 18, 1981, Matt was raised in Sioux Falls and spent most of his life there, though those closest to him knew he was often happiest on a boat with Dylan or on the golf course alongside his dad.
Above all else, Matt loved his son, Dylan. He was a deeply devoted father. He also loved his family and enjoyed spending time at the lake, hunting, fishing, golfing, playing cribbage, reading, sharing good jokes, talking stocks with his mom, and binging a good series with Dylan.
Throughout his career, Matt was known for his strong work ethic and loyalty during his years at TAK Communications and Lamar Advertising.
Those who knew Matt will remember his sense of humor, his generous heart, and the little things that became part of his signature personality: bringing no less than ten pounds of mashed potatoes to Thanksgiving, making sure leftovers never went to waste, and taking pride in finding a good deal (it is still unbelievable how many dozen eggs and boxes of cereal he bought on sale). His laugh was unforgettable. Often, you could see his whole body shaking before you even heard it. He had a way of making ordinary moments memorable.
Grateful to have shared Matt's life are his son, Dylan Reeve; his father, Jack Reeve; his mother, Kathy Byrne Reeve (partner Bryan Buus); his sisters, Nicole Butz (Josh), and their children, Joey and Addie; and Andrea Corbine (Matt Lynch), and her son, Calvin Corbine; along with many extended family members and friends who loved him dearly.
Matt's family will carry his memory with them on fishing trips, mornings on the golf course, family dinners, and all the small traditions that made him uniquely Matty.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Matt's life from 5–7 p.m. on Friday, May 29, 2026, at Miller Funeral Home Southside, 7400 S. Minnesota Ave., Sioux Falls, SD. No traditional funeral service will be held; guests are welcome to drop in at any time during the celebration.
Matt was deeply loved and will be forever missed by his family.
