Merle F. Larson, 91 of Sioux Falls, SD, passed away on Wednesday, February 12, 2025, at the Sanford USD Medical Center.

A funeral service will be held at 10 am on Monday, February 24, 2025, at the Miller Westside Chapel, 6200 West 41st Street, with burial at the South Dakota State Veteran's Cemetery.

Merle Fred Larson, son of Lloyd and Geminia (Lien) Larson, was born on April 27, 1933, in Columbia, SD, where he grew up and graduated from Columbia High School in 1951. He was drafted into the United States Army and served in Germany from 1953 to 1955 before being honorably discharged.  He then returned to Columbia and began working with South Dakota Wheat Growers.

Merle was united in marriage with Yvonne Goetz on April 5, 1959, in Aberdeen, SD. Merle took a position with Keebler Company in Sioux Falls, then was employed with General Office Supply in Sioux Falls until going back to Keebler Company as a delivery driver. Yvonne passed away on April 16, 1973.

Merle was united in marriage with Corinne Swanson Sanford on October 10, 1975, in Sioux Falls, SD.

Merle retired from Keebler Company in 1994 after over 30 years of service.

Merle was active in the VFW Post 628 and the Sioux Falls Lions. He made it to many of the Augustana College games and was a booster. He was a Minnesota Twins and Vikings fan. Merle enjoyed attending his children's and grandchildren's sporting events, as well as watching events on television (with the sound on mute!) He enjoyed feeding the birds with seeds and the squirrels with peanuts.

Grateful for having shared his life are his wife, Corinne, Sioux Falls, SD; son, Brian Larson (Diane), Rochester, MN; daughters, Patty Davis (Jeff), Sioux Falls, SD; Brenda Stolinski (Mike), Sioux Falls, SD; Pam Burkard (Dale), Sioux Falls, SD; Sheri Levesque, Derby, KS; brother, Gerald Larson, Sioux Falls, SD; sister, Helen Daly, Aberdeen, SD; 7 Grandchildren; 11 Great Grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.

Merle was preceded in death by his first wife Yvonne; brothers Lloyd and Francis Larson; sisters Loretta Lueb and Beverly Odde; and son in law, Paul Levesque.
