Mike Erickson, a loving husband, father, and friend, passed away on January 27, 2025, in Sioux Falls, SD, at the age of 66.

Michael John Erickson was born on March 11, 1958, to Lloyd and Ione (Myre) Erickson. He grew up in Garretson, SD, where he cherished memories of his childhood and graduated from public high school. After moving to Sioux Falls, Mike met JoAnne Spoonemore. Following her death in 1990, Mike was very active in raising the children.

Mike's passion for plumbing led him to a fulfilling career, starting with Stout Plumbing and continuing with Midwestern Mechanical. He took pride in his work, installing plumbing systems in various commercial buildings throughout Sioux Falls, including the Sanford USD Medical Center campus. He thoroughly enjoyed his career and loved his Midwestern Mechanical family.

In 1995, Mike married Julie Bowers in Sioux Falls. The family enjoyed many trips to Clearwater Beach, Florida. Mike especially liked the Florida weather, the sunsets, and making friends there. Mike always looked forward to the festivities on July 4th at Lake Madison. It was a time when the family could all be together. In his free time, Mike enjoyed fishing with his sons, watching old TV shows and westerns, and dreaming of sunny Florida beaches. His love, laughter, and legacy will live on in the hearts of those who loved him.

Those who knew Mike will remember his kind heart, warm sense of humor, analytical mind, and strong work ethic. He will be deeply missed by his loving wife, Julie Erickson; sons, Jason Erickson, and Justin Erickson; step-son, Joseph Spoonemore; step-daughter, Gina Erickson; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, and his brothers and sisters.

Memorial Services will be held at 11:30 am Monday, February 3, 2025, at Miller Funeral Home, 507 S. Main Avenue in Sioux Falls.
