Michael Dean Johnson, age 53, passed away unexpectedly of natural causes on Monday, June 2nd, in Sioux Falls, SD.

A gathering of friends and family will be planned for later to celebrate his life.

Michael is survived by his father, Dean Johnson (late wife Barb); biological children, Amber (Preston) Portner, Dylan (Lexi) Ibberson, and Trista Ibberson; half-brother, Brent (Ashley) Johnson; and many extended family members. He was preceded in death by his Mother, Rosemary Albertson (Hedrick); sister, Lisa Donnett Johnson; grandparents, Lloyd Curtis "Tootie" and Winifred "Nan" Johnson, Leroy, and Marcella Hedrick.

Michael was born on March 16, 1972, to Dean Johnson and Rosemary Albertson (Hedrick) in Worthington, MN. He graduated from New Ulm Public High School. Most recently, he worked at a tree service company in Sioux Falls.

Some of Michael's most valued time was spent fishing and performing watersports at Lake Shetek and Talcot Lake. He also enjoyed hunting, particularly deer hunting. His favorite pastimes were spending time with his family and doing puzzles. It was always a good day for Michael when his Grandmothers cooked. His favorite was Nan's spicy pickles and Marcella's peach pies. His humor in conversation will never be forgotten!
