Michael Xayavong, 27 years old of Sioux Falls, passed away on July 10, 2010, the result of an automobile accident. Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 17th 2:00 p.m. at Miller Funeral Home, 507 South Main Ave., Sioux Falls. Visitation will be Friday, July 16, starting at 1:00 p.m., with his family present from 5:00-8:00 p.m., also at Miller Funeral Home.
Michael was born September 22, 1982 to Khamkong and Osay (Chantaneth) Xayavong in Grand Island. Nebraska. At a young age, Michael and his family moved to Sioux Falls where he enjoyed playing baseball. Later he received his education and graduated from Washington High School and Colorado Tech University. Michael enjoyed his career and being a student. Michael was a very selfless, giving person who was passionate about making others smile and seeing his family and friends happy. He developed a keen sense of humor and had a knack for practical jokes, all with the purpose of making everyone around him smile. Some of his pastimes included watching baseball (Chicago Cubs) and football (Denver Broncos), listening to music, playing the drums, golfing, league bowling, cooking and grilling out and following the performances of his favorite dance crew, JabbaWockeeZ. He loved his family, especially his nieces, Naudia and Janessa, his sister-in-law, Dokketh Senaphan, and his brother, Tiou, with whom he was inseparable and admired, and his many friends. His beautiful life was reflected in his effervescent personality and ever-present smile.
Michael is survived by his parents, his brother, two nieces and many other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Pat and Kham Xayavong, and his maternal grandmother, Simma Chantaneth.
Michael will be truly missed by everyone whose lives he touched.
