Mitchell A. Larson, age 49, of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family, after a brave battle with cancer, on Tuesday, February 14, 2023.

Mitchell was the son of Harold Stanley, Jr. and Sherry (Mosher) Larson. He was born on February 4, 1974, in Fargo, North Dakota. He was raised in Sioux Falls, South Dakota and graduated from Lincoln High School in 1992.

After high school, Mitch worked at various jobs until he decided upon a career at Cigna Tel-Drug (Accreedo). During this time, he was able to achieve some of his most important life goals. Two of these goals included becoming a devoted father and meeting the love of his life. His sons, (Robert and David) were Mitch's greatest accomplishments. He was so proud of the people that they had grown up to be and meant everything to him. The other goal was finding his life partner and he found this when he met Holly (née Markey) Vavra. They lived happily together for 14 years with their children and two fur babies, Dash and Rico. On May 15, 2021, Mitch and Holly decided to make it official, and were married in front of family and friends in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

Family was everything to Mitch. He spent many summers at Maple Lake, Minnesota fishing with his father. Mitch was a "jack-of-all-trades" and did everything with finesse. He enjoyed working on cars, fixing things, painting Warhammer miniatures, archery, gaming, shooting at the gun range, riding his motorcycle, and gardening. Mitch knew something about everything. His talents were endless, as was his generosity.

He was also an avid Star Wars and Minnesota Vikings fan and a master at cooking anything, including grilling and smoking. However, spending time with his boys, Holly, and listening to his favorite music were truly Mitch's greatest passions.

Grateful for having shared his life are his loving wife, Holly Larson of Sioux Falls; children Robert Larson and David Larson, both of Sioux Falls. Holly's children, Erin Markey, New Smyrna Beach, FL; Andrew Vavra of Sioux Falls and Abigale Vavra of Sioux Falls; mother, Sherry Larson of Sioux Falls; sister, Jennifer Larson of Kansas City, MO; sister-in-law, Kathy (Jason) Troll of Sioux Falls; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins who loved and supported him so very much. Mitchell will be greatly missed by many.

Mitch was preceded in death by his father, Harold Stanley Larson, Jr.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, visitation with family present to greet friends beginning at 1:00 PM on Monday, February 20, 2023 at Hilltop Methodist Church, 1312 S.
