Nancy Kolb, 71, of Sioux Falls, SD, passed away peacefully at the Dougherty Hospice House on Friday, August 8, 2025.

Nancy Louise Kolb was born on June 1, 1954, in Hartley, IA, to Kenneth and Irene (Eggers) Riedemann. She grew up on her family's farm, where she was active in 4-H and developed the values of hard work and care for others that would guide her life. She graduated from Hartley High School in 1972 and went on to attend Stewart's School of Cosmetology in Sioux Falls, SD.

On June 1, 1985, Nancy married the love of her life, Peter Kolb. Together, they were blessed with two daughters, Jamiey and Jennifer, who were her greatest joy.

Nancy's professional life was marked by dedication and excellence. Following her graduation from Stewart's, she began her career at JCPenney, where she worked for 37 years. She contributed her talents in many areas, starting in the salon and later advancing into upper management. Her colleagues knew her as a hardworking, dependable, and caring leader.

Above all, Nancy's heart belonged to her family. She was known for her devotion to keeping everyone cared for and on track, her welcoming spirit, and her kitchen creations—especially the side dishes that made family gatherings memorable. She had a gift for making every occasion special and every person feel loved.

Grateful for having shared her life are her daughters, Jamiey (Jason) Brooks of Sioux Falls, SD, and Jennifer Kolb of Sioux Falls, SD; her brother, Karl (Gayleen) Riedemann of Sioux Falls, SD; her sister, Jody (Bob) Jessen of Sioux City, IA; and her cherished grandchildren, Liam and Adelyn.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth and Irene Riedemann, and her husband, Peter Kolb.

A funeral service to honor Nancy's life will be held on Monday, August 18, 2025, at 11:00 a.m., with family present to greet friends starting at 9:00 a.m., at Peace Lutheran Church, 5509 West 41st Street, Sioux Falls, SD 57106. Following the service, she will be laid to rest at Woodlawn Cemetery in Sioux Falls, SD.
