Norma Jean Stoner, of Pierre, South Dakota, sadly passed away on December 10, 2025, at the age of 70.

A visitation will be held from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm on Sunday, December 21, 2025, at Miller Southside Chapel, 7400 S. Minnesota Avenue, Sioux Falls, SD 57108.

Norma Jean was born on May 20, 1955, to parents Alton and Dorothy (Komer) Edwards in Hot Springs, South Dakota. She was raised in Winner and graduated from Winner High School in 1973.

After graduation, Norma Jean married Douglas Stoner on November 23, 1974, at the Methodist Church in Winner. The couple moved to Sioux Falls, where they became loving parents to two sons.

Norma worked for Modern Press until Doug passed away in 1983. Following his death, she worked at Hy-Vee in the floral department for many years. Later, she took on part-time work as a caretaker with Home Health Care, then went on to work at Premier Bank Card and served as the coffee lady at Flying Jay Truck Stop.

In her spare time, Norma Jean enjoyed quilting, sewing, and baking chocolate chip cookies. She also loved spending time on the river and fishing.

She is survived by her sons, Chad (Brandie) Stoner of Harrisburg, SD, and Doug (Ashley) Stoner of Sioux Falls, along with five grandchildren: Cooper, Hannah, Natalie, Isla, and Mira. Norma Jean will also be missed by her brother, Dale (Freida) Edwards of Ardmore, AL, and her sister, Joyce (LeRoy) Jelinek of Winner, SD.

Norma Jean was preceded in death by her parents, Alton and Dorothy Edwards; her husband, Douglas Stoner; and her sister, Betty Stoner.
