Patience Elizabeth Morris, age 20, of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, passed away peacefully on June 15, 2026, following a courageous battle with cancer. She was surrounded by the love of her family and close friends.
Patience Elizabeth Morris was born August 22, 2005, in Sheldon, IA, to Renae Wichers. They later moved to Sioux Falls, SD, and met her adopted father, Yancy Morris. They remained in Sioux Falls throughout her school years, where Patience attended Sioux Falls Public Schools and graduated from Roosevelt High School.
Patience always had a passion for the ocean and beaches, and went on to the University of Tampa to study Marine Biology. Following her diagnosis at the beginning of her freshman year of college, she chose to remain in Florida to enjoy time with friends and her love for the beach. Patience had a passionate gift for photography, which she utilized throughout her life. Sports photography and videography were her favorite. Patience was also a cat lover and had a wonderful bond with her cat, Mika.
Patience was an active sister to her siblings Browning, Josephine, and Benelli. As well as her half-siblings Christian, Olivia, Danika, and Arya. She preceded in death by her Aunt Stormy Dagel, her great aunt Val Dykstra, and great grandparents Russell and Geneva Wichers.
A Celebration of Life visitation, with family present to greet friends, will be held from 4:30 to 6:30 pm on Friday, June 26, 2026, at Miller Funeral Home – Westside Chapel, 6200 W. 41st Street, Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
A Celebration of Life service will follow at 6:30 pm, where family and friends will gather to celebrate and honor Patience's life and the impact she left on all who knew her.
In keeping with Patience's wishes, guests are encouraged to wear bright and vibrant colors rather than traditional black attire.
