Mapleton
Patricia "Pat" L. Gipe, age 72, of Mapleton, Minnesota, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, September 26, 2024.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, November 2, 2024, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Thunder Bar & Restaurant at 453 Main Street, Good Thunder, MN 56037.
Patricia was born on July 30, 1952, in Shenandoah, Iowa, to Richard Carroll and Virginia M. (Cruse) Searl. Her early years were spent in Farragut, Iowa, until 1962, when her family relocated to Fort Dodge, Iowa. She graduated from Fort Dodge High School in 1970.
After graduation, she married Sam Boutchee, and a daughter was born into this union. Pat and her family moved to Mankato, Minnesota, where she worked as a pharmacy technician. After her divorce, Pat attended Mankato State University, and later, she was employed with Taylor Corporation in Mankato until she retired in 2018.
Pat married Steve Gipe at their acreage outside Mapleton, Minnesota, where she resided until her death. Pat loved living on the acreage with her various dogs. She was an avid Minnesota Twins fan and loved cheering on the Minnesota Lynx, riding her Harley with friends in her younger years, gardening, and canning the fruits of her garden. She enjoyed playing "grandma" with the children of several of her friends and would regularly give updates to her family on their antics.
Pat is survived by her brother, Richard (Kate) Searl of Carroll, Iowa, and her nephew, Kent Searl (David Boisclair) of Minneapolis, Minnesota. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Angela Boutchee; her husband, Steve Gipe; her parents, Richard and Virginia Searl; her sister, Margaret Searl; and her parents-in-law, Faye and Harvey Gipe. Her beloved dogs, Max, Dozer, Stash, Ben, and Luka, also preceded her in death.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Blue Earth Nicollet Humane Society (BENCHS), 1250 N. River Drive, Mankato, MN 56001.
