Obituary

Paul Edward Hawley, age 68, of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, passed away on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls.

Paul was born on May 16, 1957, in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, to Philip and Mae (Dear) Hawley. He grew up on the family farm, where he developed a lifelong love for the outdoors and a strong work ethic. As a young man, Paul discovered a passion for cooking while learning alongside his mother, a talent he further pursued by attending culinary school in Adrian, Michigan.

Paul later moved to the Floodwood, Minnesota area, where he found great joy spending his free time hunting and enjoying the peace of the outdoors.

In the mid-1980s, Paul moved to Sioux Falls, South Dakota, where he met the love of his life, Lisa Price. The two were united in marriage and shared 30 wonderful years together. Together, they built a loving home and raised five children, including their three biological children, Trevor, Shilo, and Chantelle; and in 2010, they joyfully welcomed Devin and Calib into their family through adoption.

Paul and Lisa treasured the life they built together. They never missed an opportunity for a scenic drive, and they especially cherished the time they set aside for their regular date nights. Their love and devotion to one another was evident to all who knew them.

Paul will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his children, Chantelle Hawley, Devin Hawley, and Calib Hawley, all of Sioux Falls; three treasured grandchildren, Henry, Willow, and Declan, all of Sioux Falls; brothers, Charles (Carol) Hoobler of White Lake, Michigan, Bill (Sharon) Hoobler of Canutillo, Texas, Philip Jr. (Brenda) Hawley of Flushing, Michigan, and Patrick (Mary) Hawley of Sioux Falls; sisters, Linda Torgerson of White Lake, Michigan, and Katherine White of Great Britain; as well as many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife, Lisa; son Trevor and daughter Shilo; and sisters, Charlotte Shaw and Florence Jean Amundson.

Paul will be remembered for his quiet strength, love of family, appreciation for the outdoors, culinary passion, and the steady kindness he shared with those around him.
