Obituary

Ralph John Arlen Rosser Jr. age 89, beloved husband and father of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, passed away peacefully on July 16, 2025 at the Sanford Hospice Foundation Cottage.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 pm Tuesday, July 22, 2025, at Miller Funeral Home, 507 S. Main Avenue in Sioux Falls. The family will be present for visitation from 5:00 to 7:00 pm on Monday at Miller Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery.

He was born on April 6, 1936 in Sioux Falls. He graduated from Washington High school in 1954. Ralph spent a short time in the Air National Guard but his time was cut short due to a life altering car accident, the injuries of which would plague him for the rest of his life. Ralph went on to attend Nettleton College where he met the love of his life, Barbara Timmons. They were married for 65 years. Together they built a life rooted in love and laughter and were blessed with one son, Steven.


Ralph worked in sales for most of his career, eventually ending with real estate sales. He was also active in social organizations like the Elks Club and the Optimist Club. He also participated in Bible Study Fellowship. Ralph was also blessed with the gift of singing, he performed for many funerals, specials at church, and weddings, including his own.


He and Barbara also enjoyed travel throughout their life, they were able to visit Europe, Hawaii, The Bahamas and many of the US states.
Grateful to have shared his life are his wife, Barbara, his son Steven and daughter in law Catherine of Hoffman Estates, IL. Sister in law, Raedean Timmons of Graham, Washington. Grandchildren Daniel Rosser (Carolina) of Las Vegas, Nevada. Noah Rosser of Fort Pierce, Florida. Great Grandchild Elias Rosser and several cousins. Ralph was preceded in death by his mother Marguerite Rosser and father Ralph John Rosser Sr. and brother in law Gary Timmons. Parents in law Lloyd and Marie Timmons.


Ralph was very personable, quick witted, and expressed his love for his family freely—May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him.
