Ralph Jones, of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, passed away peacefully on May 1, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of service, love, and devotion to his family.
Visitation will be held at 9:00 am and a Celebration of Life at 10:00 am on Friday, May 8, 2026 at Miller Funeral Home (Downtown Location) 507 S. Main Ave., Sioux Falls, SD 57104. Burial to follow at South Dakota Veteran's Cemetery.
He was born on September 14, 1940, in a humble chicken coop west of Wall Lake, South Dakota. Ralph proudly served his country in the United States Navy for 20 years. His service reflected his deep sense of duty, strength of character, and commitment. Values he carried with him throughout his life.
He found great joy in the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. Whether out in the field or on the water, those moments brought him peace and happiness. Above all, Ralph cherished his family. Time spent together, sharing stories, laughter, and memories. Meant everything to him.
Ralph will also be remembered for his incredible sense of humor and his quiet, unmistakable laugh. He had a way of bringing smiles to those around him, often with a simple comment or a subtle joke that stayed with you. He had a special love for dogs, and it seemed that every dog he met naturally gravitated toward him. A reflection of his gentle and kind nature.
Ralph is survived by his loving wife, Jerrilyn Jones; his son, Glenn (Rhonda) Jones. His cherished grandchildren, Tricia and Trevor (Calli) Jones. Eric, Kylee, and Connor Engberg. Great Grandchildren, Rylinne, Camari, and Ryker. Brother Jack (Denise) Jones, Joyce (Larry Ferdig) and Lori( Stephen) Jones. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who will be deeply missed.
Ralph is preceded in death by his parents, John and Ella (Roberts) Jones and 7 siblings, Dennis Jones, Janis Oleson, Glenn Jones, Michael Jones, Wayne (Bebe) Jones, Jerry Jones and Kenneth Jones.
He will be remembered for his quiet strength, unwavering dedication to his loved ones, and the simple, meaningful life he lived.
Ralph's memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
