With great sadness, we announce the passing of Rem Uong, 66, of Sioux Falls, SD, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, who passed away on December 2, 2024 at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD.

Funeral Service will be 2:00 pm Monday, December 9 at Miller Funeral Home Downtown, 507 S. Main Ave., Sioux Falls, SD. Family will be present one hour prior to the service.

Born on December 5, 1957, in Kampong Chhnang, Cambodia, to Nun Unog and Lem.  Rem married May Yim in 1976 and later immigrated to the United States.  She raised six children with love and resilience, embracing life in a new country while learning English and creating a nurturing home.

Rem loved gardening, cooking, and attending church, where she found joy in singing and dancing.  She also enjoyed visiting Grand Falls Casino and playing the lottery.

She is survived by her children; Dep Yim, Phalla Yim Mitzel (Derek), Thoeun (TJ) Yim, Tim Yim (Martina Phol), Ton Yim, and Conney Yim, as well as her grandchildren, Alexis, Serena, Ken, Liam, and Maiya.

Rem will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
