Renae Seigenthaler, 70, passed away on November 28, 2024, at Dougherty Hospice House in Sioux Falls, SD after a courageous battle with cancer. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, December 4, 2024 at the First United Methodist Church (401 S. Spring Ave., Sioux Falls, SD). Visitation with the family present will be from 5:00pm -7:00pm on Tuesday, December 3, 2024 at Miller Funeral Home -Westside Chapel (6200 W. 41st St., Sioux Falls, SD). Interment will be at Woodlawn Cemetery immediately following Renae's service. The service will be live-streamed at sfumc.org.

Renae was born to Ronald and Evelyn Busch on February 2, 1954, in Rock Rapids, IA. She lived in Olathe, KS and Memphis, TN when her father served in the US Navy. Renae attended Central Lyon Community School District in Rock Rapids where she graduated with the class of 1972. She graduated from Sioux Valley School of Nursing in Sioux Falls in 1975. She had a successful career as a registered nurse for 41 years. She worked in orthopedics but then found her true calling in labor and delivery and nursery at McKennan Hospital (now Avera). Renae taught newborn classes to expecting parents and sibling classes.

On June 9, 1990, Renae was united in marriage to fellow tennis player Dwight Seigenthaler, and they had two beautiful daughters Molly and Abby. Renae was a friend to many, leaving behind a legacy of kindness and strength.

In 2018, Renae retired and spent her time providing daycare for her grandchildren, swimming, Bible Study, and attending her grandson's sporting events. Renae cherished every holiday and family birthday party. She valued each precious opportunity to spend time with her family and friends.

Grateful for sharing her life are her husband, Dwight Seigenthaler; her daughters, Molly (Austin) Brynjulson and Abby Brown (Max Erickson), Sioux Falls, SD; her sister, Rita (Dennis) Vannatta, of Sioux City, IA; her brother, Curt (Diane) Busch, of Milford, IA; three grandchildren, Oliver Brynjulson, Amelia Brynjulson, and London Brown; her brother-in-law, Ray Seigenthaler; and her sisters-in-law, Connie Lewis and Bonnie (Peter) Guagliardi. Renae is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Renae was preceded in death by her parents, parents in-in law, brother-in-law, and grandparents.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you donate to First United Methodist Church to send youth to church camp.
