Rennis Buchner, of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, peacefully passed away with family by his side on Thursday, October 10, 2024, at Avera Dougherty Hospice. Rennis was 76 years old.

Rennis was born on November 26, 1947, to George and Sylvia (Jones) Buchner. He was born in St. Paul, Minnesota and raised in International Falls, MN. Rennis graduated from International Falls High School in 1966.

Following graduation, Rennis earned his Associate's Degree from Vermillion Community College in Ely, MN. He then moved to the Twin Cities, where he spent the next 40 years of his life.

On December 4, 1987, Rennis married Connie Thorson in Anoka, MN. The couple resided in Andover, where they were blessed to raise their children, sons Rennis Jr., Joel, and John, and daughter Amanda.

Family meant everything to Rennis; he found joy in simple things such as fishing, birdwatching, and hunting. He had a particular fondness for grouse and deer hunting and was known for his remarkable woodworking skills. His favorite moments were watching his children and grandchildren doing what they loved.

Grateful for having shared his life are his wife, Connie Frances Buchner, of Sioux Falls, SD; sons, Rennis Jr. (Yoriko) of Japan, Joel (Amanda) Henderscheid of Effie, MN, and John Henderscheid of Maple Grove, MN; daughter, Amanda (Andrew) Curley of Sioux Falls, SD; sisters,Theresa Knutson of Mankato, MN and Geraldine (Alan) Knutson of International Falls, MN; as well as grandchildren, Ryoei, Tatsuomi, Kathryn, Genevieve, Cormac, and Violet.

Rennis was preceded in death by his parents, George Buchner and Sylvia Breeton; brother, Robert; and sisters, Tressa, Mary, Roxanne, and Barbara.
