Sioux Falls
Rhonda Heather, age 70, passed away peacefully on June 13, 2025, at Ava's House in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, surrounded by the love of her family.
Rhonda was born on February 2, 1955, in Mendota, Illinois, graduating from Paw Paw High School. Her life's journey took her across several states, with meaningful chapters in Illinois, Missouri; Rapid City, Toronto and Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
Rhonda found fulfillment in caregiving, working in nursing facilities in Estelline and White, SD, where her compassion touched countless lives. Later, Rhonda was a familiar face in the community of Toronto, SD, where she worked for 15 years at the Toronto Café and Lounge. She was deeply loved by her customers, not only for her warm presence but also for the kindness and care she offered to all who walked through the doors.
A talented cook and baker, Rhonda found joy in the kitchen and loved nothing more than sharing her skills with her children. Her recipes—and the memories made around them—will continue to nourish generations to come.
In 2023, Rhonda returned to Sioux Falls from Illinois to live with her children, embracing her role as the heart of the family. She was known most for her deep love of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought endless joy and purpose to her life.
Rhonda's legacy is one of care, connection, and quiet strength. She will be missed dearly by all who knew her.
Missing Rhonda is her son, Jesse (Ashley) Heather, Brookings, SD; daughters, Brandi Heather and Lindsey Heather of Sioux Falls, SD; grandchildren Chloe, Kaylee, Brooke, Dylan and Gunnar; great-grandchildren Weston, Haevyn and Esme; Brothers Ryan Jeanblanc, Rory Jeanblanc and Ron (Kim) Jeanblanc; sisters Renee Jeanblanc, Robin (Diane Dengler) Jeanblanc and Regina (Mark) Staley.
Rhonda was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Marilyn Jeanblanc and brother, Rusty Jeanblanc.
The family plans a private remembrance of Rhonda.
