Richard Darwin Famestad , 79, of Sioux Falls, South Dakota passed away October 2, 2024 at Avera Dougherty Hospice House.

Richard was born on April 13, 1945 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota to Oscar and Lucille (Evans) Famestad. Rich was the youngest of three boys, he grew up and received his education in Sioux Falls. Rich married Nancy Ferdig and to that union he had 3 daughters Debra, Tamatha and Shawn. That marriage was later dissolved. Rich had various jobs through the years. Rich had his own car lot, Rich's Auto Sales which he owned and operated for 20+ yrs and worked at Citibank retiring after 27yrs. Rich enjoyed old cars, fishing, hunting and going to Sturgis for 30+ yrs. Rich loved spending time with his girls and his grandkids. Rich would do anything for anyone.  Rich also loved and spoiled his dog Hailey.

Grateful for having shared his life are his daughters, Debra (Jim) Erb, Brookings, SD, Tamatha (Jeff) Lanners, Sioux Falls, SD, Shawn Hofer, Sioux Falls, SD; Grandchildren; Amanda, Jeremy, Jared, Ashley, Timothy, Cody, Kayla, Zachary, Josh, Lacy; 32 great-grandchildren; 1 great-greatgrandchild; 2 brothers, Dennis Famestad, Sioux Falls, SD, Roger (Kathy) Famestad; nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Ozzie and Lucille; grandson Justin, great-grandchild Zoey, nephew Jon.

Visitation will be 12:00 – 2:00pm Monday, October 7, 2024, at Miller Funeral Home, 507 S Main Ave. Burial will be at 2:15pm at Woodlawn Cemetery. The family would like to invite everyone for fellowship and refreshments from 3-6pm at 1209  S Dale Dr.
