Robert "Bob" Frevel, of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, passed away unexpectedly from natural causes on Friday, October 17, 2025, at his home. Bob was 66 years old.

Born on December 28, 1958, in Minot, North Dakota, Robert Lee Frevel was the son of Leander "Lee" and Irene (VonWahlde) Frevel. In 1962, his family relocated to Sioux Falls, South Dakota, where Bob graduated from Washington High School in 1977. He continued his education and earned a bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Dakota State University in 1990.

Bob was highly knowledgeable in electronics and technology. He worked as a technology agent specialist for LodgeNet, which is now known as SONIFI, in Sioux Falls until his retirement at the age of 60.

As a young man, Bob was active in many sports, playing softball until the 1980s. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his brother and was an avid golfer.

Bob was a wonderful uncle, always providing chocolate, candy, cookies, treats, and baked goods for his nieces and nephews, as well as for friends who visited. Family and friends meant everything to Bob, and he cherished the time spent with his loved ones.

He is survived by his mother, Irene Frevel, of Sioux Falls; his siblings Mary (Michael) Otterby of Dakota Dunes, SD, Jane (Randy) Ryan of Webster, SD, and William "Bill" Frevel of Sioux Falls, SD; and his nieces and nephews Joe (Kari) Otterby, Dan Otterby, Jimmy (Seanica) Otterby, Chelsea (Michael) Saffel, and Taylor (Hunter) Riddle. He is also survived by aunts and one uncle, Eleanor (Tom) Thelen, Rita Synder, and Lorraine VonWahlde, as well as several great-nieces and nephews and numerous cousins.

Bob was preceded in death by his father, Lee Frevel, his great-nephew, Maximilian Otterby, and numerous aunts and uncles.

A funeral Mass will be held at 11:30 AM on Thursday, October 23, 2025, with a visitation one hour prior to the Mass at Christ the King Catholic Church, located at 1501 W 26th St, Sioux Falls, SD 57105. Bob will be laid to rest at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church Cemetery in New Munich, Minnesota.
