Ronald (Ron) Anderson, 76, of Sioux Falls, SD died peacefully at Ava's House on Sunday, November 16, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.

Ron was born on November 13, 1949, the eldest son of Floyd and Roberta Anderson. He grew up in Canton, SD with his treasured siblings. Among them, he shared a special lifelong bond with his brother and closest friend, Leon, a relationship that shaped his character and grounded him throughout his life.

Ron graduated from Canton High School in 1968 and soon entered the service. He proudly served in the United States Navy from 1970 to 1973 aboard the USS Enterprise.

In 1974 Ron began a 32 year career with the United States Postal Service. He delivered mail with a sense of purpose, knowing that what he carried often mattered deeply to the people on his route. He cared about policy and fairness, represented his fellow workers with conviction, valued his union, and formed lasting friendships with his coworkers.

Ron married Debbie in 1982. Together they built a life marked by steadiness, laughter, and deep devotion. Their forty three years of marriage were a true partnership. They welcomed their daughters, Sarah in 1983 and Mollie in 1986, and Ron stepped into the role he cherished most. He was a girl dad through and through. He protected and loved his family without condition.

As his family grew to include four grandchildren, Kennerly, Hayes, Crew, and Beck, his world expanded again. They lit up his life, and he poured his heart into theirs. Nothing meant more to him than family. He lived with gratitude, humility, and a quiet goodness that left a mark on everyone who knew him.

Ron was a man who kept his word, lived simply, loved deeply, and found joy in the people around him. His life was a testament to the power of faith, service, and everyday kindness. His family takes comfort in knowing he lived a life deserving of eternal rest and peace.

Ron is survived by his wife, Debbie; daughters Sarah and Mollie; grandchildren Kennerly, Hayes, Crew, and Beck; siblings Leon (Susan) of Canton, SD, Leola (Bob) of Rock Rapids, IA, and Richard (Dee) of Yankton, SD; and many beloved family members.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Roberta Anderson; sisters Clarice Anderson and Gloria Schulz; father in law Russell Swenson; son in law Brad Gaede; and a grandchild lost to miscarriage in 2019.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Ron's name to Feeding South Dakota and the Sioux Falls Humane Society.

Visitation will be from 10 to 11 am, with a memorial service at 11 am on Thursday, November 20, 2025, at Peace Lutheran Church. Interment will follow at Maplewood Cemetery in Luverne, MN.
