Rose Marie Lemmer died Monday, February 17, 2025 at a Sioux Falls hospital after a lengthy illness of over 3 years.

Rose Marie Lemmer was born July 2, 1954 in Vermillion, South Dakota to Leo B and Mary (Wirkus) Lemmer. She grew up in Vermillion, attending schools there. In high school, she participated in choir and varsity band and graduated from Vermillion High School in 1973.

Rose was married to Daniel Hammer on October 13, 1978 in Yankton, South Dakota. They later divorced, but remarried again September 6, 1981 in Yankton, South Dakota.

She held several jobs over the years, including working at a gas station where she met her future husband, as well as working at a cabinet shop, Hardees in two different locations, working at CCL, as well as other jobs.

Rose loved reading, and needlework when her conditions didn't restrict her. She also loved her three dogs, Raider, Jack, and Baby Girl.

Rose is survived by her husband, Dan; two daughters, Laurel and Heather, siblings John and Kathy from her Dad's 1st marriage, as well as Janice and Tom from his 2nd marriage. She is also survived by 6 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her grandson, Sean, and her half-sister, Mary Ann.

She was cremated and there will be no service.
