Those we love do not go away; they walk beside us every day. With heavy hearts, the family of Salina A. Rauscher, of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, announces her reunion with the Lord on Sunday, May 10, 2026. Salina was called home at the age of 94.
Born on September 25, 1931, in Kaylor, South Dakota, Salina was the daughter of Fred and Amalia (Schelske) Reiser. She attended Kaylor High School.
On June 15, 1952, Salina married Raymond Rauscher from Scotland, South Dakota, in Kaylor. Together, they were blessed with four children: Vicki, Daniel, Tamra, and Fred. In 1993, the couple relocated to Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
Salina's greatest passions were her faith and her family. She deeply loved and cherished them. Holidays, birthdays, weddings, and family graduations were the highlights of her life. Salina had a profound faith and love for Jesus. She was a long-time member of Zion Lutheran Church in Sioux Falls, where she participated in Stephen Ministry and Bible studies. In her spare time, Salina enjoyed oil painting and crafts.
Grateful for having shared her life are her children: Vicki (Rich) Schmidt-Carlson of Corpus Christi, TX; Daniel (Dorinda) Rauscher of Brookings, SD; Tamra (Mark) Schwebach of Middleton, WI; and Fred (Kristy) Rauscher of Sioux Falls. She also leaves behind five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Salina is preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Amalia Reiser; her brother, Roland Reiser; her sister, Lucille (Don) Myers; her son-in-law, Terry Schmidt; close cousin Metha (Gene) Wright; and her beloved husband, Ray Rauscher.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, May 18, 2026, with family present beginning at 9:00 am, at Zion Lutheran Church, located at 1400 S. Duluth Avenue, Sioux Falls, SD 57105. Interment will take place at Woodlawn Cemetery in Sioux Falls.
