Sarah Dawn Murphy, 55, of Sioux Falls, SD, passed away on June 16, 2026, following a lengthy illness.

Sarah was born on July 21, 1970, in Sioux Falls, SD. She was the daughter of James R. and Joyce M. (Buse) Murphy.

Sarah worked in several fields but found her true calling in the medical field, working with children and elders, many with developmental challenges.

Outside of work Sarah enjoyed reading, listening to music, and native art. Her greatest joy came from spending time with family, and her beloved chihuahua, Foxie.

Sarah is survived by her father, James R. Murphy; sister, Kathy M. Betts; brother, James H. Murphy; nieces, Dalice (Aaron) Nitzschke, Catherine (Mike) Fetter, Lauren Goossen, Sarah E. (Will Simmons) Murphy, Victoria Murphy; nephews, Cody (Courtney) Woodard, Nicholas J. Murphy, and ten great nephews and nieces.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Joyce M. Murphy; grandmother, Alice C. Buse; sister, Ladee Buse; and sister-in-law, Wendy (Kruger) Murphy.
