Scott Alan Jorgensen died February 1st, 2026, at Good Samaritan Prairie Creek Memory Care Facility in Sioux Falls, SD, with his family by his side. He was 65.

Scott was born in Watertown, SD on November 26th 1960 to Merlin and Marlene (Payson) Jorgensen. As a small child, his family moved to Sioux Falls where he attended Mark Twain Elementary School, Patrick Henry Middle School, and Lincoln Senior High School. He graduated from high school in 1979. Scott went to college at SDSU in Brookings, SD and graduated in 1983 with a degree in Landscape Design.

It was in 9th grade science class at Patrick Henry Middle School where Scott and Vicky Seaman first became an item. They dated all through high school and got married on August 8th, 1980 and enjoyed 45 years of marriage. Two boys quickly followed. Scott began a lifelong career in medical sales, working for several different companies before he was forced to retire for medical reasons.

Scott was diagnosed with Frontal Temporal Dementia in the summer of 2022. He lived at Prairie Creek Memory Care from October 2024 until his death.

Scott liked to hunt with his boys and grandkids, golf, read, brew beer, and take care of his lawn. He and Vicky loved to travel to different islands. The beach and ocean were his happy place. Scott and Vicky were blessed to take their grandkids on many vacations, also.

Scott will be remembered and missed for his sense of humor, his movie quotes, his silly t-shirts, his kindness, and mostly for his beautiful smile. He loved his family greatly and we will miss him greatly. "He was one of the good guys."

Grateful for having shared his life are his wife, Vicky; sons, Casey and Nick; daughters-in-law, Quinn and Cassi; grandchildren, Tyler, Gabe, Charlee, Riley, Mackenzie, Emery and Chance. He is also survived by his mother Marlene; brother, Rod (Lynn); sister, LeAnn (Alex); sister-in-law, Brenda Grant; brother-in-law, Scott (Rumi) Seaman; and numerous very special nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Merlin; father-in-law, Richard Seaman; and mother-in-law, Bev Swalley.

A visitation, with family present to greet friends, will take place on Saturday, February 7th from 2:00 - 4:00 PM, at the Miller Funeral Home Southside Chapel (7400 S Minnesota Ave). A prayer service will be held at 3:30 PM during that time.
