Shannon Rose
Groeneweg
Dec 26, 1991 — Nov 9, 2024
Sioux Falls
Shannon Groeneweg, Sioux Falls, SD, a bright light in the lives of everyone she touched, passed away Saturday, November 9, 2024, at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls. She was 32.
Shannon Rose Peters was born December 26, 1991, in Wagner, SD. At an early age, she moved to Sioux Falls, SD, with her family. She attended local schools and graduated from Roosevelt High School in 2010. Shortly after graduation, she met the love of her life, Devin Groeneweg. They moved to a farm outside of George, Iowa. Shannon worked for Sudenga Industries as a data entry specialist.
The couple were united in marriage on October 1, 2022. In July 2023, they moved to Sioux Falls. Shannon was currently seeking her accounting degree through NW Iowa Community College.
Shannon's life was a beautiful adventure, filled with love, laughter, and a dash of Packers fandom (through thick and thin!) Shannon and Devin also enjoyed going to music festivals. A highlight of her life, she loved exploring Estes Park, Colorado, a place she had always hoped to see. She had a passion for advocating for sea turtles.
Those who knew Shannon will remember her kindness, humor, and unwavering support. She was the peacemaker, the listener, and the friend everyone needed. With a quick wit and infectious smile, Shannon brightened up the rooms she entered. Her zest for life was contagious, and will forever be etched in our hearts.
Grateful for having shared her life is her husband, Devin Groeneweg; her mother, Lisa (Randy) Geiger , Sioux Falls, SD; sister, Andrea Peters, Sioux Falls, SD; grandfather, Tyrone Peters, Wagner, SD; niece, Ashlyn; nephews, Cashton, and Noah; and all of Devin's family; her four-legged little buddy, Louie, as well as many other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her father, Robert "Chico" Peters; grandparents, Jerome Dvorak, Nanny Dvorak, and Mariana Peters.
Funeral Services will be held 2:00pm, Thursday, November 14, 2024, at Miller Southside Chapel, 7400 S. Minnesota Avenue, (81st and Minnesota Ave), Sioux Falls. The family will be present one-hour prior to the service to greet friends.
