Today we gather with heavy hearts to honor and remember our beloved mother, Shawn, age 56, passed away, leaving behind a lifetime of love, memories, and a family who will forever carry her in their hearts.
Visitation will begin at 4:00 pm, followed by a Memorial Service at 5:00 pm on Thursday, September 3, 2026 at Miller funeral Home (Westside Location) 6200 W. 41st St. Sioux Falls, SD.
Shawn was a loving mother to Ashley Rise (Curtis Rise & family of Sioux Falls) and Jesse Brower of Rapid City. She was also a proud grandmother of six grandchildren: Buom, Domach, Nyapahn, Palika, Leighlana, and Curtis Jr. Her children and grandchildren were a cherished part of her life, and the love she had for them will continue to live on through each of them.
She will be remembered as a mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, friend and loved one whose life touched the hearts of those around her. The loss of Shawn leaves an emptiness that words cannot fully describe.
Her family will miss her presence, her voice, her smile, and the memories they shared with her. While the pain of losing her will remain, so will the love she gave them. Every memory, every story, and every moment shared will become a part of the legacy she leaves behind.
Shawn was preceded in death by her mother Maude Johnson and father Harlen Sr; her stepfather Sam; brothers, Harlen Jr. and Jeffrey.
Shawn’s greatest legacy is the family she leaves behind—her children Ashley and Jesse, and her six grandchildren Buom, Domach, Nyapahn, Palika, Leighlana, and Curtis Jr. Through them, her memory and love will continue for generations.
Though she may no longer walk beside them, she will forever remain a part of their hearts.
Rest peacefully, Shawn.
You were deeply loved, you are forever missed,
and you will never be forgotten. ❤️
