Stanley Jackson, a beloved Sioux Falls resident, passed away on February 14, 2025, at the age of 76, surrounded by love and care at Dougherty Hospice in Sioux Falls.

Born on March 10, 1948, in Savannah, Georgia, to Earl and Willie Mae (Blake) Jackson, Stan grew up to be a kind-hearted and adventurous soul. He moved to Sioux Falls in the mid-1960s, where he graduated from Washington Senior High School and later served his country in the US Army from 1968 to 1974, including a tour in Vietnam.

After his military service, Stan met the love of his life, Gwendolyn Johnson, and they tied the knot on September 25, 1973, in South Carolina. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and adventure. Stan worked as a barber and later at Procter and Gamble in Georgia before moving back to Sioux Falls, where he spent many years working in manufacturing at Hoerner-Waldorf Box Company.

In his retirement, Stan enjoyed tinkering with projects around the house, gardening, and fishing in the beautiful lakes and rivers of eastern South Dakota. He and Gwen loved traveling to Georgia and the southern states to visit family and friends.

Stan's passion for photography allowed him to capture precious moments with his loved ones. His infectious laugh and sense of humor brought joy to all who knew him. As a devoted family man, Stan will be deeply missed and cherished by all who were blessed to have him in their lives.

Grateful for having shared his life are his wife, Gwen Jackson; sons, Stanley Jackson, Jr., Remon Jackson, Quentin Jackson; daughter, Christa Jackson-Smalls; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; his mother, Willie Mae Jackson; two brothers, Earl Jackson and Tony Brock; and five sisters, Sonjia Brock Jones, Joyce Jackson, Lisa Hogan, Earnestine Keel, and Margaret Jackson.

Funeral Services will be held 11:00am Thursday, February 20, 2025, at Miller Southside Chapel, 7400 S. Minnesota Ave. (81st and Minnesota) The visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00pm Wednesday evening at Southside Chapel.
