The only child of Edmund and Grace (O'Neil) Wright, Sue Ellen Trouba, was born on June 23, 1965, in North Adams, Massachusetts. She was a shy and quiet child who loved to read. In 1984, she began studying at Beloit College in Beloit, Wisconsin, where she earned degrees in Psychology and Education.

While visiting a friend in Washington, DC, Sue met Larry Trouba. Sue and Larry were married on May 18, 1993, at St. Aloysius Church in Washington, DC. The couple was blessed with three children: Emily, Nathalie, and Alexander.

Sue enjoyed bringing up the next generation.  Larry's career involved international travel, and this allowed Sue to embark on a teaching career that spanned the globe.  Sue taught at St. Francis International School, Brilliant Stars International School, and worked as the Community Liaison Officer at the U.S. Embassy while living in Benin, West Africa.  In 2001, the couple settled in College Park, Maryland, where Sue taught preschool and kindergarten for many years.

Sue believed that a person should enjoy life as it goes by fast, and Sue enjoyed life.  A high school Spanish class sparked Sue's desire to travel.  Together, she and Larry traveled to several countries and visited 46 states.  Sue had an unwavering positive attitude, a warm smile, and a great sense of humor.   In addition to travel, Sue loved ice cream, reading, time spent with family, and a number of rescued pets.

Sue is survived by her devoted husband of 32 years, Larry Trouba of Sioux Falls, and her three children: Emily of Aomori, Japan, Nathalie of New York, New York, and Alex of Sioux Falls.

Sue is preceded in death by her parents, Edmund and Grace (O'Neil) Wright, and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Richard and Shirley Trouba.

The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff and physicians at Avera Cancer Institute and the Dougherty Hospice House for the care they provided to Sue throughout her cancer journey.
