Thelma Marie Kock, 98, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, January 29, 2025. The family will greet friends for visitation from 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m., Sunday, February 2, 2025, at Miller Funeral Home- Westside Chapel, with a wake and rosary to start at 3:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, February 3, 2025, at St. Michael Catholic Parish (1600 S. Marion Rd. Sioux Falls, SD.)

Thelma Marie Mentele was born September 3, 1926, in Miner County, South Dakota.  She was the second of three daughters and one son of Joseph and Gertrude Mentele.

Thelma graduated from St. Agatha High School in 1944.  She moved to Sioux Falls for employment.  She met Walter Kock at the Arkota Ball Room and they married June 16th, 1949.  The two lived in Minot, North Dakota for a few years before farming east of Colton, South Dakota for over thirty years.  Upon retiring from farming, the two moved to Sioux Falls, South Dakota, where Thelma greatly enjoyed singing in the St. Michael's choir.

She is survived by her daughters, Jane (Jerry) Raether and Donna (Brent) Jackson; her grandchildren, Todd (Jennifer) Raether, Joel (Kim) Raether, Sarah Reimers, Bryan Jackson and Brittany (AJ) Peterson.

Thelma was preceded in death by her husband, Walter, her parents, Joe and Gertrude (Kaiser) Mentele; her brother, James; and her sisters, Alice Doherty and Irene Kock.
