Thomas C. "Tom" Culp, 65, of Humboldt, SD, passed away at home on February 21, 2026, from natural causes.
Tom was born on August 2, 1960, to Eugene and Kathleen (Culp) Bullis in Sioux Falls, SD. He was raised by his grandmother, Beryl Culp, in his early years. He grew up in Sioux Falls, where he attended school and worked as a pipe insulator over the years.
Tom married Cynthia Schmaus in Sioux Falls, and together they had a son, Benjamin. He later married Jacalyn Luehn in Salem, SD, and together they had two sons, Taylor and Nicholas.
Tom was a devoted Minnesota Vikings fan and enjoyed NASCAR, including trips to races in Phoenix, AZ, with family.
Tom is survived by his sons Benjamin Culp of Boise, ID; Taylor (Kari) Culp of Danbury, WI, and their son Cooper; and Nicholas (Alyssa) Culp of Chisago City, MN; as well as stepson Nathan 'Smith. He is also survived by his siblings Jeff (Kim) Bullis of Sioux Falls, SD; Jeanne (Gary) Beuckens of Sioux Falls, SD; and Cindy (Chris) Waltz of Missoula, MT; along with sisters-in-law Darla Bullis of Phoenix, AZ, and Sherry Bullis of Marion, SD. Tom was also a nephew, cousin, and uncle to many, and is remembered fondly by a great many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Gene and Kitti Bullis; his grandparents, Lee and Beryl Culp, and Olive Bullis; his brother, Todd Bullis; and his aunts, Carole and Ginnie VanderWaal.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, May 31, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Mary Jo Wagner Arboretum, honoring both Tom and his mother, Kathleen "Kittii" Bullis.
