Timothy "Tim" Tripp, age 69, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, October 3, 2025. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 am on Saturday, October 11, 2025 at Miller Funeral Home – Westside Chapel (6200 W. 41st St., Sioux Falls, SD) with family present one hour prior.

Tim was born August 8, 1956 in Kirksville, Missouri to Dennis and Kathleen (Chancellor) Tripp. He moved with his family to South Dakota and attended public school in Vermillion and Gayville/Volin where he graduated in 1974. Following high school Tim worked several vocations until discovering commercial construction was his passion. He worked for Industrial Constructors and Tull Erecting for many years before completing his career with Fiegen Construction as an iron worker. Tim took pride in the numerous projects he helped build that are scattered throughout the state and region.

On May 25, 1985 Tim was united in marriage to Kim Mason in Platte, SD. Their marriage was blessed with two sons, Thomas and Adam, who were born in Sioux Falls and grew up in the Hartford community.

Tim worked hard and he played equally hard. He looked forward to spending time with friends on the softball field and throwing darts. Tim enjoyed spending time outdoors. His sons relish the memories of learning how to hunt and fish with their dad by their side. Tim taught his boys how to work hard and to be proud of their accomplishments.

Tim also enjoyed following Chicago Cubs baseball, Chicago Bears football, and NASCAR races - especially when Chevrolet drivers won.

After retirement Papa Tim discovered a new joy in time spent with his grandchildren and at the lake. He taught Twila the art of debate – although it sometimes sounded to the uninformed as more of an argument. Archer reminds everyone of a young Adam and Tim relished creating memories with him.

Tim had the biggest heart for anyone who needed help. He was always willing to give his time and expertise and never expected repayment of any kind.

Thankful for having shared his life are his wife of 40 years, Kim; sons, Tom, Chattanooga, TN and Adam (Me'Shaya) Hartford, SD; grandchildren, Twila and Archer, Hartford, SD; brothers, Wes (June), Keystone, SD, Alvin (Martha), Scotland, SD, and Scott, Volin, SD; sisters, Pam (Rex) Bye, Gayville, SD, Tammie (Doug), Ruffle, Nashville, TN, Janet (Darrell) Haas, Volin, SD and Crystal Henrichs, Columbus, NE; many nieces and nephews, and numerous friends. Tim was preceded in death by his parents, his parents-in-law, and two sisters-in-law.
