Vicki Lynn Randall was born on July 8, 1952 in Fairbanks, Alaska to Earl and Arlene (Simon) Randall, where Earl was stationed in the United States Air Force. Earl would often call Vicki his "little Eskimo".
In 1953, Vicki's family relocated to Aberdeen, SD.
Growing up in Aberdeen, Vicki attended Roncalli Elementary, Roncalli Junior High, and graduated from Roncalli High School in 1970. She then furthered her education at Presentation College in Aberdeen.
Vicki met the love of her life, James Bruse, in Aberdeen in 1971. She moved to Denver, CO for one year before moving back to Aberdeen and reconnecting with Jim.
Jim and Vicki were united in marriage on May 1, 1976. Shortly thereafter, they moved to Sioux Falls, SD. It was in Sioux Falls where they were blessed with three wonderful children: Erin, Jarod, and Lindsay.
Vicki had a strong love and a special gift in caring for the elderly. In her most recent career, she was the Activities Director at Waterford At All Saints/Touchmark in Sioux Falls.
Vicki loved listening to music and enjoyed going to concerts. Some of her favorite concerts included Led Zeppelin, The Rolling Stones, Eric Clapton, U2, Tina Turner, Elton John, and Adele, to name a few.
A big fan of baseball, Vicki loved attending MLB games and watching the Los Angeles Dodgers on TV. She was a big fan of Shohei Ohtani.
Vicki always loved going on vacation. She enjoyed yearly summer trips to the Black Hills, along with Caribbean cruises, and her most recent cruise to Alaska in 2018. During this trip, she visited Fairbanks, AK, which she thoroughly enjoyed.
Vicki cherished time spent with her children. She especially loved her time with her grandchildren, Addie and Emmett, which she referred to as "Nana's Sweethearts." She loved to read books with them, bake cookies, and never turned down the opportunity to give them a back rub.
In her recent years, Vicki loved to sit outside on the deck in her backyard, which she called her "sanctuary". She enjoyed the fresh air and bird-watching, especially Mourning Doves.
Jim and Vicki recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. Their love for each other was beautiful and unbreakable.
Blessed to have shared Vicki's life are her husband of 50 years, James Bruse of Sioux falls; her children: Erin (Rob) Mitzel and their children Adelynn and Emmett of Sioux Falls, Jarod Bruse of Sioux Falls, and Lindsay (Mario) Gourde of Renner, SD and Mario's daughter, Madison (Al) Cassada, of Jacksonville, FL.
