Violet Terveen, 93 of Sioux Falls, SD, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 10, 2025, at Ava's Hospice House.

Violet Waldner, daughter of Paul and Tillie (Hofer) Waldner, was born on January 2, 1932, in Freeman, SD. She grew up there and received her education graduating from Freeman Academy High School in 1950 and then attending Freeman Jr. College.

Violet was united in marriage with Archie Terveen on September 15, 1953, in Luverne, MN. The couple farmed near Freeman and began to raise a family. She taught in the Freeman area for over 18 years until moving to Sioux Falls in 1965. She then worked full-time with Raven Industries and managed a trailer court until retiring after 20 years.

Archie passed away on February 3, 2004. Violet remained in Sioux Falls and kept busy crocheting, reading and cooking. She loved travelling to Branson, MO, with her sister and playing Bingo.

Grateful for having shared her life are her daughter Deb (Michael) Albertus; sister Ardella Gross; brothers-in-law Gordon Waltner and Norman Hofer; two grandchildren, Rodney Albertus and Katie (Gary) Ketcham; two great-grandchildren Kailey and Zoey Ketcham; and many other relatives and friends.

Violet was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Archie; brother Martin Waldner; sisters Sharon Waltner, Darlene Hofer; brother-in-law John Gross; and an infant son.

Visitation with the family present will be from 5 to 7 pm on Thursday, September 18, 2025 , at the Miller Funeral Home Westside Chapel. A private burial will take place at Woodlawn Cemetery.
