Warren Henry Reed, 89, passed away on Thursday, July 9, 2026, at Palisade Healthcare in Garretson, SD. Memorial services will be held 11:00 Wednesday, July 15, 2026 at Miller Funeral Home – Downtown (507 S Main Ave., Sioux Falls, SD 57104), with visitation beginning one hour prior. Following the service, Warren will be laid to rest with his beloved wife Rhea at Woodlawn Cemetery in Sioux Falls, SD.

Warren was born December 1, 1936, in Atwater, SD, to Orville "Bud" and Sabina (Maseman) Reed. He graduated from Washington High School in 1954 and went on to enlist with the Air Guard, serving from 1953 to 1963, and then again from 1970 to 1972.

On August 31, 1957 he was united in marriage to Rhea Roselle Rasmussen in Howard, SD. The couple lived in Sioux Falls where Warren started his career with the Sioux Falls Fire Department in 1961. He was promoted to FAO in 1966, and then promoted to captain 1976. After a 29-year career with the department, Warren retired as captain in 1990.

Prior to his time with the fire department, Warren was a carpenter and enjoyed building houses. He continued this work after retirement for a number of years. Warren and Rhea loved to spend time at their lake house in Lake Shatek, MN, enjoying their time on the water water-skiing and boating.

Warren was a member of Hope Lutheran since 1958, and an associate member at Christ Lutheran in Slayton, MN. He was also involved in the Retired Fire Fighters Association.

Warren is proceeded in death by his wife, Rhea; parents, Orville "Bud" and Sabina Reed; brothers, Orville "Bud" Reed Jr. and Melvin Reed; and sister Evelyn Stauer.
