Wayne L. Steensma, 92 of Sioux Falls, SD, passed away peacefully on July 2, 2025.

In remembrance, a gathering will take place from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday, July 11, 2025, at Miller Funeral Home 507 South Main Avenue. The funeral will be held at Memorial Lutheran Church at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 12, 2025, with burial at Woodlawn Cemetery.

Wayne L. Steensma was born on August 30, 1932 to loving parents, Anton and Martha, in Sioux Falls, SD. He lived a long beautiful life. He married the love of his life, Madonna, on December 28, 1958. They had three wonderful children: David, Mary, and Daniel. Wayne was a devoted Christian and a hard-working and dedicated family man. He served in the Air Force and the National Guard for 41 years where he achieved the high rank of Chief Master Sergeant.

Wayne was preceded in death by his wife Madonna; his parents Anton and Martha; three brothers:  Robert, Donald, and Eugene; and grandson Aaron Alexander. He is survived by his children: David (Chris) Steensma, Mary (James) Perkins, Dan (Tina) Steensma; 12 grandchildren: Emily Steensma, Natalie Janot, Tylor Albrecht, Desiree Williams, Allyson Albrecht, James Perkins III, Derek Perkins, Ehlana Perkins, Noah Barringer, Kira Barringer, Kyle Anderson, and Zachary Steensma; 18 great-grandchildren; and his two sisters JoAnn (Greg) Hauglid and Janet (John) Williams.

A father's love, a beacon of light, now darkened, but never forgotten. Though grief may stay awhile, memories of his courage, strength, advice, wisdom, and love, will forever comfort and inspire. His legacy lives on!
