Zabrina Carlson, age 42, of Hartford, South Dakota, passed away on Friday, June 20, 2025. A radiant soul whose warmth and wit lit up every room, Zabrina was a devoted wife, loving mother, and passionate cook, whose life was anchored by her deep love for her family and her faith.

Born on March 30, 1983, Zabrina pursued her education in dentistry, showcasing her dedication and intellect. Yet her true calling was in the kitchen, where she crafted meals that were expressions of love. She carried her chef's knives everywhere, always ready to create a feast or teach a friend, as she did during a joyful, laughter-filled day making tamales. Zabrina's generosity shone through in her willingness to share her culinary gifts, never judging a friend's "cheap knives."

Zabrina's infectious smile and quick wit made every conversation a delight. She had a gift for turning moments into memories, like transforming her friend's daughters into princesses for a Disney themed ball, ensuring every detail was perfect from dresses to makeup and even princess autographs! Before settling down, she loved traveling to visit friends, bringing her vibrant spirit to every gathering.

Later in life, Zabrina embraced her Catholic faith, finding solace and strength in the love of Jesus Christ, which became a cornerstone of her beautiful soul. Her faith guided her as a nurturing mother to her two children, Zayden and Zaylee, and as a devoted wife to Christian, whom her best friend described as the love of her life. Their bond was a testament to her capacity for love, filling their five years of marriage with joy and devotion.

Grateful to have shared Zabrina's life with her are her husband, Christian Carlson; her children, Zayden and Zaylee; her parents, Hal and Peggy Treeby; her siblings, Kristin (Devin) Kusekoski, Teresa (David) Maier, and Reece (Jodi Hebl) Treeby; her father-in-law, Jim Carlson; her aunt and uncle, Jim and Kelli Fritz; her five nephews and one niece; and extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her beloved infant son, Zachary Christian Carlson.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 am on Tuesday, July 1, 2025 at St. Michael Catholic Church (1600 S Marion Rd., Sioux Falls, SD). Family will be present for visitation at 9:00 am prior to Mass.

In lieu of flowers, to reflect Zabrina's love for cooking and children the family requests donations to Lasagna Love or the Ronald McDonald House.
