LaKendrick Thornton, age 40 of Sioux Falls, died Tuesday September 18, 2018. Family will greet friends from 5:00-7:00 pm Friday September 28, with a prayer service at 7:00 pm at Miller Funeral Home 507 S. Main Ave. Funeral services begin at 4:00 pm Saturday at Miller's. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the family.

LaKendrick J. Thornton w as born April 29, 1978 in Memphis, TN, to Jerry and Dorothy Thornton.

He departed this life Tuesday September 18, 2018

He professed his life to Christ at an early age at Friendship Baptist Church.

Those who are grateful to have shared his life are is parents, Dorothy and Jerry Thornton; grandmother Mae Willie Fuller, Nesbit, MS; five aunts, Gwen Jones, Sioux Falls, SD, Adele Fuller, Nesbit, MS, Barbara Hurst (Robert), Memphis, TN, Elenore Pitts (Terry), Pique, OH, Julie Weberg, Clear Lake, SD; five uncles, Amos Harris (Willie), Nanafalia, AL, Robert Thornton (Mae), Memphis, TN, Sammy White, Colton, SD, Larry Ray Fuller, Nesbit, MS, and Raymond Fuller, Sioux Falls, SD; his life companion, Sara D. Jerke; son, Deonte Q. Thornton, step-son Roman Jerke; three daughters, Kayleigh Kroger, Lauren M. Thornton, and Brooklyn Thornton; two sisters, LaTisha S. Thompson (Michael) Jones), Sioux Falls, and Nelyn Thornton, Memphis, TN; two brothers, Perriom Thornton (Michelle) and Jerry C. Thornton Jr., both of Memphis, TN; two nieces, Brea and Lauryn Thornton, of Memphis, TN; four nephews, Josiah Thornton, Sioux Falls, SD, Jacob, and  Perrion Thornton Jr., and Jeremy Shelton, all of Memphis, TN; and a host of other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his grandfather Ray Fuller, three uncles, Roy Lee, Emanuel L. and Calvin Fuller.
