Chris Baker, Denver, CO, and formerly of Sioux Falls, SD, died February 17, 2016, at the Denver Health and Medical Center, Denver, CO, following an acute medical condition. He was 34.

Christopher John Baker was born December 22, 1981, in Sioux Falls, SD, to Terrence and Jeri (Pritchard) Baker. He attended St. Mary Elementary School and enjoyed summers golfing with his dad, and playing baseball. Chris attended O'Gorman High School, graduating in 2000. Chris always looked forward to wintertime when he could go skiing with friends at Great Bear.

Chris traveled to Europe and studied culinary arts in Ireland. Returning to the US, he worked in the hospitality industry. Living in Denver, he worked at Santiago's Mexican Restaurant. In his free time, he liked playing with his dog, "B," and going skiing. Chris had aspired to one day attending chef school.

Blessed with a happy spirit, he always led his day with a warm smile. Chris loved spending time with friends and family, and would always look forward to coming home for the holidays.

Grateful for having shared his life are his parents, Terry and Jeri Baker, Sioux Falls; sister, Carrie Baker; nephew, Jeremiah Dalen; and many relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Dorothy and Wayne Pritchard and Ronald and Alice Baker; uncles, Robert Pritchard, Sr, Pat Baker; and cousins, Robert Pritchard, Jr. and David Baker.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:30am Tuesday, at Miller Funeral Home, 507 S. Main Avenue, with interment at St. Michael Catholic Cemetery. Visitation begins at noon with the family present to greet friends from 4:00 to 6:00 Monday night at Miller Funeral Home.
