Garang
Aluong
Jan 1, 1984 — Nov 7, 2021
Sioux Falls
Garang Aluong age 37 of Sioux Falls, SD passed away Sunday November 7, 2021. His family extends and invitation to you to attend his funeral service at 10:00 AM Friday November 19, 2021 at Miller Funeral Funeral Home, 507 S. Main Avenue.
We are gathered here today in the memory of our brother, Garang Juma Bakhiet , so that together we may acknowledge and share both our joy in the gift that his life was to us, and the pain that his passing brings. In sharing the joy and the pain together today, may we lessen the pain and remember more clearly the joy.
Garang was just 37 years old when he passed away on Sunday November 7th at Avera Mckennan hospital. He was born on January 1st, 1984 in Mading, Bor. He spent most of his life here in Sioux Falls, working over the years.
Garang was very close to his family, and to his friends. He worked hard, mostly at Smithfield here in Sioux Falls and at Peska Construction. He enjoyed the simple things in life, being around family and friends he was always relaxed and kind in his nature.
Garang was the son to Aduck Aleer and Juma Bakhiet, he is preceded in death by his parents and a younger brother Majok Juma Bakhiet. He leaves behind many of his siblings here and also back home. He has one child, a 15-year-old daughter and lots of nieces and nephews whom he loved so very much. Although his passing was unexpected, we are joyful for having shared a special role in his life. May the angels of God comfort us in our private time as we continue to heal.
His Journey's Just Begun
By Ellen Brenneman
Don't think of him as gone away
his journey's just begun,
life holds so many facets
this earth is only one.
Just think of him as resting
from the sorrows and the tears
in a place of warmth and comfort
where there are no days and years.
Think how he must be wishing
that we could know today
how nothing but our sadness
can really pass away.
And think of him as living
in the hearts of those he touched…
for nothing loved is ever lost
and he was loved so much.
